Job Evaluation establishes relative position of jobs in a job hierarchy within an Organisation, which effectively helps in an optimal organization design. It assists managements when decisions have to be made as to how and where jobs should be fitted into the organizational hierarchy.

Job Evaluation does not directly determine rates of pay, however provide a point of reference while conducting market pay comparisons.
